I know it would be hard for the girls who turned me down at high school dances to believe, but once I grew a foot or so (taller), and had time for something other than studying, I became a very good dancer. I met my wife while I was teaching ballroom dancing, in the late 70's, and although Sheri had never danced competitively, we took second place at the Star Ball, after only four weeks of practice. Our early competitions were in smooth and Latin dances -- fox trot, waltz, tango and rumba -- but we also enjoyed swing dancing.
