IC 4100 (= PGC 44963)
Discovered (1903) by Max Wolf
A 14th-magnitude spiral galaxy (type Scd) in Cane Venatici (RA 13 02 05, Dec +40 24 30)
Based on recessional velocity of 8170 km/sec, about 360 million light years away. Given that and apparent size of 1.3 by 0.8 arcmin, about 140 thousand light years diameter. |
