PGC 72000
A 15th-magnitude spiral galaxy (type S0/a) in Pegasus (RA 23 38 50, Dec +27 12 54)
Part of Abell 2634, the Pegasus II cluster of galaxies. Based on recessional velocity of 9105 km/sec, about 400 million light years away. Given that and apparent size of 0.7 by 0.5 arcmins, about 80 thousand light years in diameter. |

The image above shows PGC 71994, 72000, 85579, 85597, and 1801452 The one below shows an approximately 15 arcmin wide region centered on PGC 72000 Most galaxies are labeled, but a few are not, to reduce clutter; they are labeled in closeups |

PGC 72301
A 16th-magnitude spiral galaxy (type S?) in Pegasus (RA 23 45 07, Dec +25 31 06)
Recessional velocity measurements of 7350 and 11750 km/sec yield distance estimates of 330 and 520 million light years. The latter value is in good agreement with redshift-independent distance estimates of 460 to 510 million light years. Given that and apparent size of 1.0 or 0.2 arcmins, about 140 thousand light years in diameter. |
